Lynn in the Kitchen: The Antidote Juice Interview

ant.JPG

I had the pleasure of interviewing the owners of The Antidote Juice Erin Buran and Scorch Inez. This was one of my most fun interviews so far since the inception of Lynn in the Kitchen. The location on 734 Union Street in the Central Business District. The Antidote Juice is a boutique juice bar to foster a healthier food environment in downtown New Orleans, specifically among the service industry workers whose labor of love allows this city to thrive.

The Antidote Juice is brought to you by The Next Sober Life, est. 2016 which combines whole-body health, goal-setting, and inclusivity between the sober, sober-curious, and sober allies of the New Orleans community. The Next Sober Life encourages these group to come together and enjoy our city’s great social scene while breaking down stigmas and barriers between the sober lifestyle, holistic health, and allowing yourself to let loose.

I was impressed with the presentation of the juices that I decided to try a 3 day cleanse. The cleanse was very intense. The first day was the roughest. I really enjoyed the mix of the juices to drink during the day. My favorites tend to the the spicier juices. Go figure, coming from a foodie. Erin and Scorch says Cleanses are a great way to get your diet back on track after a bender. They are also great for your immune system, and it’s a good idea to do them regularly to detox and reset your gut. They expressed the Antidote Juice is the most all-inclusive cleanse out there because they provide you with some extras like fresh lemon juice and apple cider vinegar to suppress your appetite and balance your pH. PLUS you have the option to really give your gut an extra kick with the celery juice add-on. I really enjoyed the ginger shot, Big Shot (pineapple, cucumber, coconut water) and Beetnik (apple, beet, celery, cucumber, greens).
