Momchella 2021
The Black New Orleans Mom held a fundraising event, Momchella 2021, in Audubon Park. This was the first event but won’t be the last. It was held on a Sunday, and don’t we always preach Self - Care on Sundays? This will be an annual event.
I echo the sentiments of The Black New Orleans Mom founder Jaemi Johnson “Momchella was everything”! “A day of self-care and restorative healing is such a great start to the week.” 2020 gave us mixed energy. Moms need that refresh. #nolamomchella
We enjoyed complimentary bottles of wine, charcuterie by @thebloomboxnola, and a luxury picnic experience by Lauren at Gather n Chill. The giveaways were pretty lit. I linked the swag/sponsors below.
In case you missed it (ICYMI) here’s who to stay connected with:
All proceeds from the event will benefit Black Mothers in New Orleans and the surrounding area. Black New Orleans Moms is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, our mission is to provide a safe space for Black Moms to unapologetically discuss parenting, culture, and lifestyle. The Black New Orleans Mom goal is to cultivate happy, healthy, and confident mothers that can put that energy into their families and support our community.
Trip to Cafe du Monde
Beignets! Beignets! Beignets! The kids love the beignets at Cafe du Monde near the Hilton Riverside. Did you know? The Original Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stand was established in 1862 in the New Orleans French Market. The Cafe is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It closes only on Christmas Day and on the day an occasional Hurricane passes too close to New Orleans.
Mommy really loves the beignets with the Cafe Au lait at Cafe du Monde.

Audubon Aquarium of Americas
We love the Aquarium of the Americas. Located on the Mississippi River adjacent to the French Quarter, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is consistently top-ranked, voted as one of the top five in the country in the USA Today "10Best" reader poll and ranked as one of the top things to do in New Orleans. Our favorite is the Amazon Rainforest. The aquarium has more than 3,600 animals from more than 250 species, including endangered species, such as African penguins, and rare animals, such as white alligators, the Aquarium offers you once in a lifetime experience. Visit New Orleans!!!!
